| The Realm of Sky, of floating Islands has little in the way of water, and the three races of this world, Elves, Humans, and Dwarves war over it. These three races fight to control each other, Elves being highest in the heirarchy. An assassin finds himself dragged deeper into a plot he realizes he knows nothing about. The first book of the Death Gate Cycle, a magnificent series. I couldn't put them down, and fought to find the next one the moment I was done. Keep all of them within reach. The characters get pretty in depth, so if you prefer to wait between readings, don't wait long, or you may forget some of the characters. |

| In a world where gender doesn't exist, a human man must create an alliance that will make it easier for the world of Winter and others to exist. Will Genly Ai create the alliance he is hoping for, or will his own judgement of these androgenous people affect him in a way he cannot himself explain. This book is haunting... it really brings up some fundumental questions about our own existence on this planet, and how blatently our own gender's factor into everything we do. Read it with a grain of salt, and you'll learn something about your self. |
